Bucket List are proud to work alongside Altruistic Hands who have been running projects since 2015 and have built 3 schools in the Gorkha region. These projects have been life changing for hundreds of people in Nepal. Bucket List takes the social and economical responsibilities of being a Tour Operator very seriously and have developed this with our partner charity. Here are the details on the wonderful new project that Altruistic Hands & Bucket List are undertaking.

WE HAVE 5,000 BRICKS FOR SALE TO REBUILD THE SCHOOL, CAN YOU HELP? £2 per brick to rebuild a school and heal a community

Bucket List Adventure Travel have teamed up with local Nepalese charity Altruistic Hands  to re-build Kalika Primary school.
Over the last few years, Bucket List Co- Founders Andy & Dave have spent many times trekking, climbing and enjoying life in Nepal. Unfortunately in 2015, a 7.8 earthquake destroyed countless homes, schools and village killing almost 9,000 people and injuring over 22,000. More than than 2.8 million people were displaced and 5.6 million affected.

Andy & Dave were shocked to see what condition some of of the remote areas of Nepal are in, with limited electricity, water, housing and that in some parts, food and work was difficult to obtain. Yet, amidst all of this tragedy and destruction, Andy & Dave were treated like family without ever being asked for anything in return – truly being humbled by the people’s generosity.
Since returning to the UK, they have wanted to give something back to Nepal and we want you to come on that journey with us. If you can help, it’s simple, all you need to do is buy 1 brick, 2 bricks or as many as you like to help us reach our target and to re-build 2 classrooms at this primary school and help this communities future.

SO HOW DO YOU REBUILD A SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY WITH ONLY 5000 BRICKS?

As we said, we are working alongside an amazing team helping to support this project and will be guided by Altruistic Hands in Nepal. Altruistic Hands are an established Not for Profit Company and have already help re-build other schools.
Our vision is to buy an earth brick machine, sponsor employment and training of local workers and use local materials while building the school for 150 children. 150 lives. 150 futures that can thrive with a real classroom to learn and have fun in.
